Substrate:  4-6 inches of Washed playground sand.
Max Length:  14 in.

Lighting
Use a full spectrum UVB light; this will output good UV rays for calcium absorption so that it can digest its food better. The UVB light should be used for 12 hours of ultraviolet lighting. This can be maintained by using a timer.
Temperature
The daytime temperature should be between 85-95 degrees. The Basking area should have a temperature from 100-120 degrees. At nighttime the temperature should be 70-85 degrees.
Humidity
Humidity should be kept around 20%.
Food
Crickets and wax worms dusted with calcium, fed daily. Some collared lizards may eat veggies such as greens and carrots, but many do not. Also larger collareds may eat pinkie mice or smaller lizards such as anoles and house geckos, but these should not be fed often, only once a month.
Water
Mist enclosure weekly for water intake.
Housing
29-gallon tank is minimum for one. 50 gallon tank is minimum for two. Screen Lid required for air exchange. Desert-like habitat. Hiding space, basking spot and cool area needed. Basking spot should be rocks.
Number Per Enclosure
Only one male per enclosure. Up to two females may be kept.
